Now, I had low expectation of this machine. In fact, I thought it would be garbage and not worth it since it was released almost a year or two after the GBA SP. After seeing what I have seen (which in the grand scale of things, which is not much) I have come to the conclusion that I must have the thing. Now. Right now. In fact, when I work at my new job, that's going to be the first thing I'm going to buy... But christmas is coming and I know my parents are going to be getting me one. (subtle hints work wonders in the Buzinkai household)
On to what I have played:
What I had the chance to play was Metroid Prime : (Insert title here). For a handheld, I was blown away. The graphics were crisp and clear, and for a handheld, the controls were suprisingly un-laggy. Running around killing metroids was never more intresting.
On to what I have seen:
Nintendogs. A game which I'm not too sure will be coming out in america, is quite amazing. If you have not seen it, check it out here! As you can see, the touchscreen which I thought would be useless, happens to take interaction to a whole new level. Imagine playing..say..RPG battles without having to take focus off of the battle screen to go through menus. Or being able to switch weapons in perfect dark quickly and easily by pressing their icons in the lower screen. And as in Metroid, switching into morph ball and switching weapons while still fighting!
Nintendo DS is completely worth it, it's even backwards compatible with your GBA games, so your not going to miss finishing up Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
Thanks Nintendo!
