Everyday I was unfortunatly barraged by my brothers praising of Fable. The last 5 days until the release date was like watching a kid before christmas. Let me remind you that this same kid beat Kotor with a perfect light rating. Games like this were his business.
He brings this game home and decides to let me play it. I didn't expect much.
Dear god I wish I could go back in time and kick myself in the nads for just thinking this game could be bad. Let's go over it, shall we?
The game hosts an amazing plot, and an even more amazing open-ended system. So your village is burned down and your sister and mother stolen by bandits (all because they couldn't find you). I mean, I've seen this plot before, we all have. But can you say that you've had the choice of basically becoming the most evil thing on the planet to get revenge? Yeah, you choose your destiny completely. Do you run in with sword and bow and defeat the evil 3 foot tall mofo wasps from killing everyone (and I mean maiming and eating, this game's no joke when it comes to violence) or perhaps stand there and laugh while your guildmaster screams at you to do something. We have a choice. Although I have too much of a heart to leave them to die. I'm willing to bet Gravius would have a hell of a fun time becoming the most evil hell-raising ever, watching as the people beg for mercy, and he just stands there, laughing at them while slowly eating an ice-cream cone. (A chocolate one)
Basically Fable is very close to LARPing, same open-endedness and missions. But unfortunatly, buttons cannot replace the feel of my sword "Elaine". Nothing can replace my friends! So on a scale from 1 - 10. This game is officially rated a 9.4
Second Opinion: "It's like a adult version of Animal Crossing... [except] you can take enemies heads off with a bow. C'mon now." - Steve
