Hey there FWAPsters,
I talked to some of you about performing, just wanted to check in with you guys and also continue to solicit for performers. For the record, status will be earned for Faire work (performing, labor, etc.) at a rate of .5 per hour. That also includes the friday before, which will be about an 8 hour day. So there is a potential 12 status to be earned from the Faire. And it's a good time, trust me!

Hey Sean,
When does the 8 hour work day for the set up of the faire actually begin and end? I know I will most likely be working all night because I am Genna's second hand woman for concessions. Most of the time people just showed up whenever for the set up and is someone actually keeping track on who shows up when?

Amy is the staffing manager, she'll take care of that stuff.
Performers? Anybody? ...sniffle, sob....

yes, we're here... sorry we have something about this in our privete section. as far as i know the list of the performers are: Dan, Vito, Sandra, Dennis, Myself, George
at least thats what i think it is, though i'm not entirely sure. Dan, i think, has the list, also he's picked out 11 songs, which i'll yell at him tomorrow to post here.
only thing, just to let you know, as far as i know none of us can make it on mothers day. that friday shouldn't be a problem, we'd just need to take the hour ride over, but on Sunday we're spending the day with our families. so we can most likely do fri from about 4 on (if we leave right after school), and we can do Sat.

Awesome, you guys are shaping up to be one of the big guns of this year's entertainment.
Now, I have to take a shot here, is there anything we can do to get you guys there on sunday? Maybe...comp tickets for your mothers...plus a few more. I don't want to lose all my classically trained musicians, especially when we're pushing the Mothers' Day theme. No biggie if you can't, get back to me when you get a chance.
Sean
P.S. - PLEASE?!?! I will personally bear you each a baby...really, I'll figure something out!

If I had talent, I'd perform...and since it's the thought that counts, can I have a baby too???

It is currently impossible for me to make that Sunday. I promised my mother I'd be there for her "special" day. But if you really need me that badly, there's still a couple of weeks left to figure something out. Maybe there's a chance... But in the meantime, it's a no-go on my end. And I have finals and keeping up an average for a scholarship to worry about right now... As for babies... no thank you. I already have enough responsibility. Maybe a cat? They're easier to take care of.

Well, I'll quote the big boss man Bill Seligman:
Here's a subtle alternative:
"Mom, you know that I've spent a lot of time at this place called Mystic Realms. I know you don't understand what it is that I do there. I would like to share it with you. The Mystic Realms folks are putting on something special for Mother's Day. They want me to be there... and I'd like to be able to share this with you too. What do you think?"
It has a schmaltz factor of 8 on a scale of 1-10, but properly phrased it could work...
And free admission for anybody sharing DNA with you, and their spouses.
Liam - only if you wear that corset again
Genna - no baby for you
Rebecca - What act? What do you do? You can do it, it's just over 4 weeks till the Faire!

okay since our resident asian is slacking again ( ), i'll have to do this for him. As we all know, the Fantasy Faire will soon be upon us, and Vito, George, Dennis, Sandra, Bix, and myself are recruited as minstrels to entertain in the fairgrounds and even hold a few shows. So far, I have been able to meet with a majority of you guys and we've at least managed to touch upon the music I've found. However, we'll need to get some other things down as well and I'll need your help. 1) I've already got 30+ minutes of music for the shows and the fairgrounds (not counting two other books I found and haven't read yet), but a little extra might be needed just in case. If any of you can find sheet music to some songs appropriate for the fair, find a way to get them to me (via mail, e-mail, etc.) We could certainly use extra tunes. 2) I need to know what songs any of the other acts may be doing. I don't want to step on anyone's toes by playing their songs (hence the search for extra music) and if I can get in touch with them, I could possibly negotiate and make changes with our act. So far, here's a few of the songs I have picked out: Blow the Candels Out The Bailiff's Daughter of Islington The Fox and the Geese Willie Taylor Ballad of Lord Rendal The Seven Drunken Nights Greensleaves The Bard's Song (a good closing number) The Foggy Foggy Dew Dinah and Villikens Barbara Allen If you know that someone else is playing any of these songs, please let me know and I will try to work things out. 3)This is basically for George, Sandra, Dennis, Vito, and Bix. We need to meet whenever we can so we can rehearse and practice the music. George mentioned something about scanning the music and sending it via email, so we will try to get the music to everyone that way. But we'll also have to organize some times for us to meet and rehearse. George and I can meet quite frequently as well as Bix and Vito, so we just have to get a chance when we can meet with Sandra and Dennis. Try to contact me with information and possible ideas. Thanks guys for all of your help and I am sure that this will turn out to be a fun and splendid experience. Consider it our first garage band. Dan poor Dan, anyways this is the only thing thats related to the fair on our portion of the boards. also vito and i already asked about mother's day and if our families wanted to make a day thing out of it. i guess you could say that they were displeased. my parents personaly don't like MR and think its a phase and i guess they know a decent ammount about it, for being my parent that is. but i'm almost positive its a no go for sun, and i don't think it would change in the coming weeks.

My ma might come, and my dad? Well, I've fought him with a sword, he's freaking fierce. I want to see if I can get him as a cavalier.
*imagines dad in armor*

Whoa...
