In regards to the Eldanites, I'm pretty sure that there are the Blood Guard (who are the red crosses, and kill on sight by Guildhall law) and the Iron Cross (who are the black crosses, and are more like the bad good guys than anything). Of course, I may be mistaken. There are 3 major factions in the main Holtish orders. There is the Order of the Iron Cross, which is just the army of Holt. There is the Order of the Blood Cross (red cross on white), which is made up of fervently religious Eldanites who are racist and culturist, but still tradesmen in good standing. Finally, there is the Order of the Blood of Eldan (red cross on black), the "Blood Guard," who are so militantly racist and culturist that they murder Tradesmen of the Highlands on sight. They are the enemies that are "attack on sight." don't confuse a Blood Cross with a Blood Guard, because only one is criminal.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I can work with history that isn't written down in the books or on the website. This will be good to know if I run into them in the field as well. Contemporary history is very good to know, especially if it keeps someone alive.

As for the Nexus and the Realm Spire....
A madman in a mental institution has seen a vision of green, icky death that is heading towards our realm, ready to smash it into two, and end it all.
In order to close our Realm from otherwordly invaders (like the Servantors and the Shaggothes) we need to reactivate the Realm Spire. This will require a small sacrifice from every tradesman, and no, no one will be obliterated or sent into the void. We need the tablet from the Red Robes, but they are demandig Altar's sword for it, and Altar has only said he will give up the sword when he is dead. This may require us to kill Altar and take his sword, thereby pissing off the growing number of Black-Robed Karthydians who follow him.
So, we're in a quite a dilly of a pickle right now.

Hmm... This is a problem... how can we sacrifice another tradesman, even if it is for a good cause? Either way, it seems like a lose/lose situation. What possible options are open to us? Are there other realm spire tablets? Well, regardless of how this turns out, I'll try to be there to record the events for FWAP and everyone else.

okay just so for my own personal knowledge of the Highlands, i know the Holts took us over till about 7 years ago or so. and the Order of the Blood of Eldan or "Blood Guard," are the ones that hate highlanders? that means if i ever see red cross on black that i'll be attacked right?
also for the realm spire we really need to find it, the realm is more important than any one person. and we need to find it get it back, weither it means steal it from altar (i personaly am apposed to killing him, or just about any tradesmen), stealing the tablet from the red robes, find another if there is one, or well what other option there might be.
also what do the red robes want with altar's sword. all i know is that they want it bad, but i don't know why. and i know that the red and blakc robes are basicly in a holy war thus altar not willingly giving up the sword, and the red robes not giving us the tablet. do they even know that we need the tablet to keep the realm safe? and if they do are they so fanitical that they just don't care?

OK. From what was said, apparently the Order of the Blood of Eldan (Blood Guard: red cross, black BG) is the only group that will attack tradesman. As for the other groups, there is an army of Holt (Order of Iron Cross) and tradesman in good standing and are very pious, although rather racist and nationalistic (Order of the Blood Cross: red cross, white BG).
Just read above in Sir Richter's post. It explains everything I just said, but better because I didn't know about that until it was brought up by him.

The thing about the Red Robes is if they get the sword, that's the beginning of the Age of Chaos essentially. Remember that the Age of Chaos is the end of the realm because various armies will rise up, the realm will be smished, and Karthis himself will come down to smite us.
Without the realm spire, we have a whole mess of green, icky death waiting to fall on our heads and crack the realm into a million itty bitty pieces. Also, should we get the realmspire, we need to charge it with various parts of our souls.
Now, I have an idea for this but I'll only talk about it IG so as not to begin a whole hellstorm of arguing on the boards. Suffice it to say it's a long shot, but if we pull it off the realm will exist for another thousand years and we'll be heroes and have songs of our greatness sung throughout the ages!

I like the sound of the last part! At this kind of desperate moment, I'm ready for any ideas! Please when we get in-game let us know of this idea! "Green, icky death."

question i know one of the Way of the Five gods was attacked by a nexus, a woman (Lumina?) and that another one (Carthas?) fought it. just a bit curious about how big that nexus was, and if it was one of the nexus that we fought. killing that took 3 hours and a lot of luck and stragety, i'd rather face the age of chaos head on than fight my way through something that we don't have a shot against. in my oponion,
saving whole realm > age of chaos

Hmm... I guess another historical intervention is underway.
One day, Natallis was out wandering when she happened across a field. It had a pool of water of some kind in it, oddly alien to the environs. All of a sudden, strange and frightening beasts that seemed to be made of water came from this pond and attacked her. Natallis and her animals were powerless to stop them and she was sucked into the goo.
Unaware of what was going on, apparently the two brothers, Solnus and Karthis were nearby. They heard Natallis scream and rushed foward to help. Solnus destroyed the creatures with his sword while Karthis cheered him on from the sides. Solnus slashed and slashed and finally slew all of the beasts. When the battle was done, Natallis awoke to Karthis's face and believed he was the one who saved her. She gave him a kiss for his troubles.
Finally, Noctis and Lumina showed up, Lumina on a unicorn. Then the nexus appeared, tall enough to block the sunlight from The Five where they were. It then proceeded to grab Lumina and her unicorn and attempted to devour her. Noctis, seeing his lover almost in the maw of the huge being, went wild with anguish. The skies darkened, the most terrible of spells underway. The whole realm went black that moment...
When the darkness finally cleared, all that remained of the nexus was a dried and wrinkled corpse. Noctis had unleashed a spell to suck all the life out of the Nexus, and it had succeeded.
There we go. Another little bit from my memory. If I am wrong at all in this telling, please warn me so I don't make the same mistake again.

okay so i'm assusming that the nexus we fought wasn't that big..... and one that big took a god to destroy, and one like it could be coming. hmmmm i think we're kinda screwed..... that story doesn't make me that happy.
(this next statment assuming that nexus still can be hurt by spells- yes i know they can't) even the combined efforts of every spell caster we had, every balista bolt and not even worrying about any shaggots we still wouldn't have a chance. unless the hairbrain scheme i thought up one day might have a chance. we would just need enough bards to surround the nexus, or disable it from moving and have them sing wall of sound/shell of sound. and than just fire balista bolts through the openings and over the bards. obvious problems a bard can't sing for 3+ hours. but just thought i'd post another little thing i think about in my spare time.

Ah, in fact, we don't know if this new Nexus can be affected by spells or not. I'm pretty sure that a Nexus becomes immune to what's flung at it a month afterwards, which is why if we hadn't killed that Nexus then, it would have been impossible to take it out. When the town first fought it, they used everything but heavy weapons which is why that's the only thing we could use.

are you serious? i had no idea about that..... if that's the case than it means that we could have a shot if it did come and try and eat us all, but still it would be a monstrosity. a nexus 100 times bigger than the one we fought, and a whole lot more shaggots, not the thing we need in the realm. also because the little nexus fled (i assume back to their home) couldn't it pass on any invunabalities to the other nexi, or just grow in size it self at an alarming rate because it is free on its own world, and than come back buffer than even the one we fought? nexus food for thoguht.

Let's focus on the realm spire, please. I doubt we'll have to face something that enormous if we just focus on the tablet and such. It makes me nervous to prepare for the worst in this case...

just in case we need to prepare for the worst. if we can't find it, or if we can't convince Altar to give up his sword, or get the tablet any other way, we're in trouble. big trouble. we need to start planing for everything, kinda like how on the marrauder board thers is a 13 page forum about dealing with zombies. all options must be considered. and everything won't go perfect......damn you murphy.
