This has been an idea milling around in my mind for quite a long time. (and I actually have the rules and diagrams set up for it, too!)
Evermoore Capture the Flag. A nice little game where two teams must try and get eachother's flags back to their own. An intresting concept, although I had to wonder a few things.
1. What will the flags be?
I was thinking about making the flags in the same manner as making a weapon, PVC and Foam, with crush-foam at each point (to avoid accidents).
2. Forming the Play area.
Remember blood-ball? Same thing. I bunch o' barriers (impermiable) set down to stop those who try to cross it.
3. Player interaction.
Each player is given 10 hits, so he or she has a chance of getting the flag. All hits are light. The flag can be thrown, but only a toss, no lobbing the thing half-way across the playfield. Someone could get hurt.
The game will be played until a team has 3 points.
Does anyone know if any rituals can be tied into this?

Well, you can spite people and cheat by having a rogue or runecaster theft protect your flag...
But enough negatives, this sounds like fun! You can make outside lore illegal in the game with time penalties and such for abuses. It would be fun to watch! But the problem lies in where it would be played... there's not a lot of room to work with, especially not enough for a full game. Hmm... I said I wouldn't throw in negatives... oh well. Interesting idea though, Atrus! ;D

well if you'd want 10 hits light, that means no spells or arrows, it might be able to be used to learn either another body or armor if the teacher so chosses. also it could probally be worked into either an armor ritual, a shadow games ritual, althitic contest, hearty physice, enhance physice, and if there would be lots of fighting mabye a bestoy body. that's all i can think of off the top of my head.
also as a sugestion mabye if someone had earthworks, or a race that could create pits/pools you could make some obstacles. but than you'd need a stand by healer or too in case someone fell in the pit.
it really depends how big you want the playing field, the smaller it is the more fighting there will be.

stealth games would be a good ritual too.

The order of the phoenix and the order of the black lotus about a year or two ago had a big capture the flag game. This was when the lotus was about 20+ strong and the phoenix and freinds was about 10 people. It wound up being a draw. It was pretty cool and the funniest part was the phoenix had paid Thelia to cast a shadow domain around our flag, the lotus paid Thelia to take down Pandora, Pandora paid Thelia to bandage her, and finalally Eric paid Thelia more to not disspell the shadow domain than the lotus was willing to pay her to disspell it. Moral of the story? A good rogue could walk away rich from a CTF game.
