The story of Kaz? Is that what you're here to listen to?
Well, I admit, I don't tell this story nearly enough as I should. Most people don't want to hear it. This isn't your typical story. There are no scars of a tortured past or hellbent quests for revenge. This is the story of a man, Pythian if you want to be exact, who got swept up in something much bigger than himself. If you do truly want to hear this story, the story of ordinary men doing extraordianary things, then sit back and stay a spell.
Born Kaz'ian Kssellis, as is his true name, was born to a typical small Pythian family deep in the heart of the Ansaki Fens. His father, Syzel, was a woodsman for their small town. His mother, Ansazi, was a Cleric of Ansaki, and once a part of Guildhall. Together, Ansazi and Syzel raised their family of 7 Sons and 4 Daughters.
Like I said, a typical small Pythian Family.
Kaz and his brothers and sisters trained with their father in the ways of the woodsmen. Learning the spear and the ways of the Fens. Kaz's mother trained the children in history and the ways of Ansaki. Kaz, while very adept at the martial arts, found himself inexorably drawn to his mother's stories of Guildhall, the Orc Wars, and the tales of the Five.
As the years went on, the children began to separate. 5 of Kaz's brothers went off to fight for the Andorian scum at the border. Two of his sisters became priestesses. Kaz however, found himself torn. Was he to go and fight with his brothers for what his people deserved? Or was he destined to follow the path of a cleric of Ansaki? Suddenly, it hit him that he could do both! There was a way for him to fight for what he believed in and still sate his lust for knowledge.
Kaz decided right then that he would become a Tradesman.
Using an old travelling contact of his mother's, Kaz found an old wizard who had sought solitude in the Fens. He was a Beard'on named Revels, a man who had long since grown tired of the politics in Evermoore and had retreated to a far corner of the realm to live out his days.
After many months of petitoning the old man, Revels agreed to train Kaz. For 5 years, Kaz learned to hone his mind and study the mysteries of the arcane. He learned to call down flames from the skies and hurl them at his foes. He learned how, with the right application of magical force, he could disrupt or control any ritual. And, most importantly, he learned what it meant to be a Guildsman. His training was almost complete when Kaz's life made an unexpected turning point.
