A little bit of Atrus's adventure:
We walked quietly through the forest and out into the wilderness. After a bit of walking, we came upon a small campsite, and the first thing to make Eric cringe.
"Oh god, it's a scarecrow!" He said.
I looked closely, did it move? It's hat fell off, but nothing other than that. Our group moved in closer, finding it to be a normal scarecrow.
"We should move ahead." Someone said. We all agreed.
Walking away from the campsite, the road got darker, to the point where my keen eyes could not see anywhere beyond the edge of the path. I had to rely on my only sense which worked in the dark, my hearing. I kept a watch on each side, when Eric suddenly spoke:
"There are Shamblers in the woods, if we're extremely quiet, we may be able to sneak past them."
As we walked, the slow feeling of enclosure suddenly came upon me. I kept hearing rustling in the woods, and knew exactly what it was.
Suddenly I realised we were being attacked from all angles. I rushed in and started to swing at anything within my slightly smaller range. (Sword II. Not my strongsuit.) I managed to take down a rat, and prepared to cast my only spell: Command Plant, on the shambler.
The spell hurled through the air and missed the enemy by mere inches. A waste of Mana.
Moving on (once everything was confirmed to be dead) we came upon a graveyard. There were some goblins here to make trouble as well, or so I thought, but turns out they just wanted a bit of a treat for halloween. All's well and good, we begin to return.
We entered the campsite and moved past the scarecrow. When I passed it, it's hat fell off again. More wind. But something was wrong, the scarecrow slowly reached down and grabbed the scythe right next to it and came at us.
"Sheath your swords!!" Eric yelled.
But I was too afraid to do so. I know I should have listened, but my fear got the best of me and the scarecrow kept advancing. It followed us almost back to town and then backed off.
Spooky night.
